Spiritual Bites for the Weary

About

I am Brooke Gale Louvier.

cartoonlouviers

I am married to an amazing man, and we have three gorgeous and wild children and a lazy English Bulldog.

I write.

I believe in the importance of telling stories and that the gospel is the greatest story ever told.

I believe in amazing grace and that all we need is love, and Jesus is love incarnate.

I love coffee, cooking, being outside, and poetry.

But my favorite thing in the world is going on adventures with my family.

We love to travel, hike, and experience new things.

This blog is my attempt to see the redemption and beauty all around me, and to do my best to capture it,

my “feeble attempt to express in inexpressible.”

“Whereas the truth is that fullness of soul can sometimes overflow in utter vapidity of language, for none of us can ever express the exact measure of his needs or his thoughts of his sorrows, and human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we tap crude rhythms for bears to dance to, while we long to make music that will melt the stars…”

  1. I am a subscriber! I’m a fifty (nearing sixty) something who never finished college…loves words…is also too sensitive, too reclusive, an internal and often external mess…(those last things do get better with age, I promise you!)

I also believe in the importance of telling stories.

I looking forward to being a regular (well, I’ll never be regular…) visitor here.

Your writing is lovely. (Spelling is what dictionaries–online or otherwise–are for… writing is what your heart and soul are for…)

  5. You are a lot nicer than the god you worship. Remember, he and his son will throw billions of people into hell forever.

    1. Hi,
I could never be nicer then God. He IS love. I don’t believe God chooses to throw people into hell. Mainstream Christianity’s idea of hell is warped. Jesus said He desires none should parish. Because God is love, hell is simply the lack of where he is, people choose to be a part from him. It breaks His heart. Thanks for visiting my site. 🙂 I hope you see God as grace and love.

  6. This is great! I am really looking forward to following your blog! 🙂 Love your perspective on God and life! Very similar to mine: finding redemption and beauty in it all!
